AIMS Dept. Miami University

The Armstrong Institute of Interactive Media Studies Rebranding and Marketing. Established sustainable best practices for the marketing, web development and content continuation in the re-branding project for the program. Beginning with an outdated WordPress site, the team moved all content and processes to Miami University’s Cascade system. Developed social media and SEO strategies, conducted program wide interviews, created multimedia and print assets and established leave behinds of all work processes.

Before gathering and creating content, I evaluated the information on the previous AIMS website and decided which to keep. After creating an outline for the tabs, a card sort was developed to allow the creation of a final sitemap based on SEO research. The main strategy was to create innovative and creative content with a consistent and strong brand recognition. The goal was to rhetorically appeal to a wide array of audiences such as prospective students, high school guidance counsellors, and parents.

he Armstrong Interactive Media Studies Institute (AIMS) develops new approaches in the creation and application of digital technologies that empower individuals and organizations to invent, innovate, and collaborate in new and exciting ways. The AIMS department is attracting more students to the program, establishing credibility through Miami’s Cascade System, providing relevant and updated information for current students in the program, and adding brand consistency across each track through the department. In addition, students are able to better engage with AIMS culture and further understand what facilities and programs AIMS offers. With video overviews and interviews with facility directors, current students are able to know how to locate and engage with each center.
